The Catalysis Commission

was established at the 7th International Zeolite Conference in Tokyo in 1986

to establish procedures that will allow model reactions catalyzed by zeolites or related porous materials to be defined clearly, so that

the performance and data treatment aspects of zeolite catalysis can be standardized, and

    publication guidelines can be formulated

To do this

the same zeolitic material (same batch) is subjected to the agreed-upon reaction under exactly the same conditions by the laboratories of all Commission members.

This procedure requires that the test conditions, including the purification of the reactants and details of the equipment, be described unambiguously.
